Young performers from Central Bedfordshire took to a professional stage at a regional Battle of the Bands final, showcasing emerging talent from across the area.
Young musicians from Central Bedfordshire have been showcasing their talent at the first BLMK Battle of the Bands Regional Final.
The event, organised by the BLMK Music Hub, was held at The Stables in Milton Keynes and brought together bands from across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes following a series of local heats.
Representing Central Bedfordshire were Avenida from Queensbury Academy, Life Before Seatbelts from Harlington Upper School, and Dynasty from Vandyke Upper School.
The final gave students the chance to perform on a professional stage in front of a live audience, with full sound, lighting and production support.
After a strong line-up of performances, the overall winners were Edith Dog from Bedford Modern School, with LYRA from Luton finishing in second place.
Central Bedfordshire Council’s Executive Member for Children’s Services, Gareth Mackey, praised the event, saying it was a great opportunity for young people to perform on a bigger stage and build confidence through music.
Inspiring Music, the council’s music service, supports young people across the area to learn, perform and develop their skills, helping them progress from local sessions to regional showcases like this.
