Two men arrested after reports of street fight in Eynesbury

Police investigating reports of a fight in a residential street in Eynesbury ended up making two arrests for separate, unrelated offences.

Officers were called to Fern Court at around 4pm on Monday following reports of people fighting in the street. While carrying out enquiries in the area, police attended a nearby address where two men were arrested in connection with other matters.

A 37-year-old man, of no fixed address, was later charged with theft from a shop.

A second man, aged 34 and from St Neots, was arrested on suspicion of several offences, including theft, burglary, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, driving without insurance and possession of a class A drug. He has since been released on bail and is due to return on 5 April.

Police say the incident highlights how enquiries into one report can often lead officers to uncover further offences.
