Huntingdonshire District Council has confirmed its new leadership team and Cabinet portfolios following Thursday evening’s Annual General Meeting.

Councillor Conboy said she was “honoured to continue serving” at what she described as “an important time for local government and for our district.”
The meeting also saw Councillor Stephen Ferguson elected as the new Chair of the Council, while Councillor Michael Burke was appointed Vice-Chair.
Cabinet responsibilities for the year ahead were formally approved during the meeting, with Councillor Sarah Conboy overseeing Place and Councillor Brett Mickelburgh taking responsibility for Economy, Regeneration and Housing.
Other appointments include Councillor Tom Sanderson for Planning, Councillor Lara Davenport Ray for Climate, Transformation and Workforce, and Councillor Liam Dewey-Beckett for Governance and Democratic Services.
Councillor Nathan Hunt will oversee Resident Services and Corporate Performance, Councillor Julie Kerr takes responsibility for Parks and Countryside, Waste and Street Scene, while Councillor Jo Harvey becomes Executive Councillor for Finance and Resources.
Council leaders also highlighted Local Government Reorganisation as a major focus for the coming year, with discussions continuing across the region around potential restructuring of local authorities.
The Joint Administration says its priority will be to provide stable leadership while ensuring Huntingdonshire’s voice is strongly represented during any future changes.
