Ray Steel

Hi, I’m Ray Steel. I’ve been spinning records since I was 11, starting out with my family’s roadshow, 5 STAR, back in the late ’70s. Growing up surrounded by my mum’s incredible record collection — from Elvis and Motown to Ska and Reggae — music was always in the house.

I’ve worked the social club circuit, youth clubs, and even pirate radio. Professionally, I’ve shared stages with legends like Martha Reeves, The Temptations, Desmond Dekker, and Lee Scratch Perry.

My passion for Mod and Ska runs deep, and I still perform live every week. For nearly five years, I’ve loved bringing the music of my youth to Black Cat Radio. Nostalgia is my life — keep the faith!
