Central Bedfordshire will welcome some of the world’s top cyclists this autumn, as the prestigious Lloyds Tour of Britain Men passes through the area for the very first time.
Stage three of the UK’s biggest professional cycle race sets off from Milton Keynes on Thursday 4 September, making its way into Central Bedfordshire with a stage finish in Ampthill. It marks a major milestone for the region, which has never hosted a stage before.
The route forms part of the 2025 race’s opening week, starting in Suffolk before heading west through Milton Keynes, Central Bedfordshire, and on to Warwickshire.
Cllr Adam Zerny, Leader of Central Bedfordshire Council, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be hosting a stage. This is a brilliant opportunity to inspire future generations, bring communities together, and showcase our area to a national and international audience.”
More details, including race timings and road impacts, will be shared closer to the event.
