St Neots Town Football Club has confirmed that a new consortium has acquired the majority shareholding in the club from outgoing owner Lee Kearns.
In a statement, the club expressed “heartfelt thanks” to Mr Kearns for his dedication and passion. During his time at the helm, the Saints returned to Step 4, became financially self-sustaining, and established a strong foundation both on and off the pitch.
The new owners, led by Mark Gearing, said they felt “honoured” to become custodians of the club. Mr Gearing added: “Lee has done a fantastic job in building a strong foundation and we’re determined to continue that progress both on the pitch and in the community.”
The consortium has pledged to maintain and strengthen ties with supporters and the wider area as they take the club into its next chapter.
Further updates will be announced in due course.
Mark Gearing, speaking on behalf of the consortium, said:
“We are honoured to become custodians of such a proud and historic club. Lee has done a fantastic job in building a strong foundation and we’re determined to continue that progress both on the pitch and in the community. We understand how important St Neots Town FC is to its supporters and the wider local area, and we’re fully committed to maintaining and strengthening those vital connections as we move forward together.”
