A1198 Services access closure 29SEP25 to 11OCT25

National Highways are installing utility ducting under the A1198 and removing the central traffic island.

Ducting involves placing protective tubes under or alongside the road. These ducts are used to house cables or pipes for utilities like electricity, internet, water, or gas.

To work safely, we will close the A1198 overnight (8pm to 6am) between Caxton Gibbet roundabout and the entrance to Caxton Gibbet services on the following dates: 

• Monday 29 September to Friday 3 October 2025
• Monday 06 September to Friday 11 October 2025

Diversion

We will divert A1198 traffic:

• east along the A428
• south on the M11
• rejoin the A1198 via the A603
