Eynesbury Rovers mourns death of Club President David Crisp

Eynesbury Rovers has announced the death of its Club President, David Crisp, following a long association with the St Neots football club.

Mr Crisp had been involved with Rovers for many years, including serving as a member of the club’s committee.

In recent seasons he remained a familiar face at matches, regularly supporting the first team both at Hall Road and on their travels away from home.

Announcing the news, Eynesbury Rovers said: “It is with great sadness that we have to report the passing of Club President David Crisp.

“David has a long association with the club having been a committee member for many years and in recent seasons supported the first team home and away.

“Our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time.”

Mr Crisp’s contribution to Eynesbury Rovers was recognised by the club earlier this year with the introduction of the David Crisp President’s Cup.

The new trophy was presented for the first time at Rovers’ End of Season Presentation Night in May, when it was awarded to Max Kimpton as the Supporters’ Player of the Year.

The club will pay tribute to its President this weekend when Eynesbury Rovers host Belper United at Hall Road in the United Counties League Knockout Cup.

A minute’s silence will be held in David Crisp’s memory ahead of Saturday’s match.
