A pilot has been taken to hospital after a plane crashed during the "flying proms" air display.
The incident happened at 19:20 BST on Saturday 15th August at the Shuttleworth visitor attraction, near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, and involved a De Havilland DH.88 Comet with just the pilot on board.
The pilot, who is understood to have been landing the plane, was safely removed before being taken to hospital. There was a large presence of emergency service vehicles with Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service providing crews from Sandy and Kempston.
This is the second air incident within a couple of months.
Back in May of this year a pilot escaped serious injury after an Avro Triplane IV replica crashed during the Shuttleworth Wings and Wheels Air Show at Old Warden.
That incident occurred at the south end of the airfield during the event’s evening flying programme. The aircraft, a replica of the pioneering 1910 Avro Triplane IV, came to rest in a tree in Old Warden Park after the accident.
