The meeting organised by Capital & Centric has turned out to be as disorganised as their plans according to attendees.
According to those who attended the gathering in the Market Square, It was "a complete shambles!".
Jennifer Mitchell wrote of Facebook, "There was a stage with one member of C&C talking, but it was impossible to hear a thing."
Others on Facebook reported that Capital & Centric had made a decision two hours previously that their plans were no longer going ahead. Residents still want to see or hear a statement from Capital & Centric to confirm this.
There are mixed feelings however, with some calling for the need for regeneration but with clearer proposals, while others are condemning any proposal to build in this area of the town. There is scepticism that this is the last they will hear of proposals, saying, that C&C will simply change their plans to something more acceptable so it looks as if residents have been listened to, but they’ll still develop something on the site.
