More than 15,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized during a multi-agency operation targeting illicit tobacco and vaping products in St Neots.
Huntingdonshire licensing officers joined Cambridgeshire Police, Trading Standards and HM Revenue and Customs to carry out inspections at premises across the town on the 16th September.
The operation resulted in products being seized from three locations.
Officers recovered 15,420 illegal cigarettes, 5.65 kilograms of hand-rolling tobacco and 37 illegal vaping products.
The raids form part of ongoing work across Cambridgeshire to tackle the sale and supply of illicit tobacco and nicotine products.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Rob Streater said the trade not only presented health concerns but could also support wider criminal networks.
He said:
“Working alongside our partners is a vital part of the everyday work carried out by our neighbourhood teams in response to issues raised by the public.”
Residents are being encouraged to report information or suspicions about businesses selling illegal tobacco or vaping products.
