The family of a lorry driver who died following a collision on the A14 at Godmanchester have paid tribute to a man they say “made everyone around him smile”.
Jason Tholen, 54, was driving a Scania lorry when it was involved in a collision with a Suzuki SX4 on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 at around 6.45am on Sunday 19 January.
Emergency services attended the scene, but Jason, from Waddington in Lincolnshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Suzuki, a man in his 30s, was not injured.
In a tribute released by his family, they said Jason had suffered a sudden medical event while driving. They described him as “loving, funny” and someone who “made everyone around him smile”, adding that he would be deeply missed by family, friends and colleagues.
