Emergency services are dealing with an incident at Kelpie Marine near Roxton, with part of the A1 closed in both directions.
The incident happened at Kelpie Marine, where the vessel is understood to have broken free from its mooring after catching fire.
Fire also spread to the original mooring and surrounding embankment, with the current dry conditions contributing to the blaze. As it drifted across the river, the burning boat ignited vegetation on the opposite bank where cattle were grazing. The farmer has been in attendance to monitor the situation for his livestock.
Emergency services remain at the scene, with the A1 closed in both directions between the Black Cat roundabout and Tempsford, while School Lane has also been shut.
Bedfordshire Police are urging motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes while crews continue to tackle the incident.
The cause of the fire has not yet been established.
