Man Jailed After 10-Month Crime Spree Across Cambridgeshire

Jailed: 27 months for thief who committed more than 40 offences over 10 months.

A man who carried out more than 40 offences during a ten-month crime spree across Cambridgeshire, including areas near to St Neots, has been jailed.

Jerome Wallace, 37, of no fixed address, targeted vehicles, businesses and individuals between November 2024 and August 2025, leaving victims out of pocket and distressed.

Wallace admitted 48 offences in total, including 25 thefts from motor vehicles, nine vehicle interferences, six frauds by false representation, and three thefts from people. His offending also included shop thefts, a business burglary, an attempted bike theft and possession of cannabis.

The offences were committed across a wide area, including Cambridge, Cambourne, Papworth Everard, Huntingdon, St Ives, and Bishops Stortford in Hertfordshire.

Items stolen ranged from everyday belongings to valuable personal documents and electronics. Victims reported the theft of passports, wallets and purses containing bank cards, which were later used fraudulently, as well as laptops, iPads, headphones, clothing, sunglasses, perfumes, and even loose change and reading glasses.

Wallace also targeted several businesses. He carried out a burglary at the Co-op in Papworth Everard, stealing goods worth around £400, and committed further thefts at Co-op stores on Milton Road and Milton Avenue in Cambridge, where alcohol, tobacco and food were taken.

Following a detailed investigation, Wallace pleaded guilty to all charges and was sentenced to 27 months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court yesterday (15 December). A further 79 offences were taken into consideration after Wallace accepted responsibility for them.

PC Bradleigh Bucknell, from the Southern Spree Offender Team, said Wallace’s actions had a serious impact on local communities.

“Wallace’s crime spree caused significant harm to our communities,” he said. “He showed complete disregard for the law and for the impact his actions had on victims. This sentence sends a clear message — if you commit crime in Cambridgeshire, we will pursue you relentlessly and bring you to justice.”
