Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) is inviting residents and visitors to have their say on parking in the district as part of work to develop a new parking strategy.
The strategy will review demand and supply across HDC-operated car parks, ensuring facilities for cars and other vehicles meet current and future needs. Officials will also consider the wider transport picture, including public transport, walking, cycling, and emerging travel trends.
Council leaders are asking the public to share their experiences with HDC-managed off-street car parks, including:
-
Finding a parking space and any issues encountered
-
Quality of the parking experience
-
Payment methods and costs
-
Disabled parking provision
The resident survey is open now, closing on Sunday 21st December 2025. A separate survey is available for business owners and employees within the district.
The consultation follows HDC taking over parking enforcement across the district in September, including in St Neots, where residents had long called for more local control over parking in the town.
The council says the survey will help shape a strategy that ensures parking provision matches demand, improves the parking experience, and supports wider transport planning across Huntingdonshire.
