It was a frustrating Saturday for local football fans, with both Eynesbury Rovers and St Neots Town seeing their fixtures postponed after persistent rain left pitches unplayable.
Eynesbury’s away match at Godmanchester Rovers was the first to fall victim to the weather, failing a pitch inspection earlier in the day. Standing water meant conditions were unsafe, leaving officials with no choice but to call the game off.
St Neots Town were also set for a road trip, travelling to face Anstey Nomads in north Leicestershire. However, the hosts confirmed their pitch had become waterlogged, forcing a postponement. The fixture will be rearranged in due course.
The St Neots side are next in action at home to Racing Club Warwick FC on Saturday, giving supporters the chance to return to the Premier Plus stadium if the weather plays its part.
