It was a weekend of winning results for our local football teams, with both St Neots Town FC and Eynesbury Rovers notching up wins.
For Eynesbury Rovers, it was the perfect start to the new campaign as they began their league season with a convincing 4–1 win away at Easington Sports.
Luke Young was the standout performer, bagging a superb hat-trick, while Max Kimpton added a fourth to seal all three points on the opening day. The result will be a huge confidence boost for the Rovers, who are aiming to build momentum early in the season.
Meanwhile, over at the Premier Plus Stadium, St Neots Town – the Saints – rounded off their pre-season schedule with a solid 2–0 win against fellow Step Four side Mildenhall Town.
Goals from Bowen and Furlong ensured a comfortable home win in a match that saw several former Saints players line up for the visitors.
