Eynesbury Rovers continued their impressive run on the road with a 4-1 victory over Daventry Town on Saturday, moving up to 11th place in the league.
The visitors set the tone early, with Luke Young opening the scoring in the fourth minute after Victor Osobu’s cross found him at the near post. Young then added his second in the 28th minute, converting a Lewis Lynn free kick that was only partially cleared by the Daventry keeper. Five minutes later, he completed his hat-trick, firing home a loose ball at the back post following a Max Kimpton cross.
Jordan Brown, marking his return to the club, rounded off the scoring for Rovers in the 62nd minute, tapping in from another Lynn free kick to make it 4-0 and notch his 80th goal for the club in 197 appearances.
Daventry managed a late consolation goal after going down to ten men when Archie May was sin-binned, with Tom Iaciofano finishing a rapid counter-attack.
Rovers had several chances to extend their lead, including a penalty that hit the post and a close-range effort from Scott Joseph, but the final whistle confirmed a dominant victory on the road.
This result marks Luke Young’s third hat-trick of the season, taking his tally to 19 goals in 24 appearances, and keeps Eynesbury in strong form ahead of their Hinchingbrooke Cup tie at Whittlesey Athletic on Wednesday, 10th December (7.45pm kick-off).
