A 52-year-old woman has been jailed for 27 months after forcing her way into a neighbour’s flat in Peterborough while armed with a knife. She admitted aggravated burglary, weapons and drug offences at Cambridge Crown Court.
A woman who forced her way into a neighbour’s flat armed with a knife has been jailed for more than two years.
Donna Lloyd, 52, approached the flat in London Road, Peterborough, at about 10.30am on 25 August last year.
The victim initially opened the door but quickly shut it in Lloyd’s face. Lloyd began shouting, produced a knife from her sleeve and repeatedly banged on the door.
When the neighbour opened the door again, Lloyd forced her way inside while brandishing the knife. A scuffle followed, during which she was disarmed. She then left the property before police were called.
Officers arrested Lloyd, of London Road, and carried out a search of her flat. A small quantity of cannabis and cocaine was found.
Lloyd admitted aggravated burglary, using violence to enter a premises, possession of a knife in public, possession of cocaine and possession of cannabis.
She was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on Wednesday 18 February to 27 months in prison.
Detective Constable Lisa Flatters said Lloyd’s behaviour was “completely unacceptable” and described the incident as a frightening ordeal for the occupants, who were confronted in their own home by a woman armed with a knife.
She added that she was pleased Lloyd had been apprehended and brought before the court.
