A local father is set to turn so-called Blue Monday into a powerful statement of hope and resilience by taking on an extraordinary fitness challenge in support of mental health services.
Jamie Archer, a father of two, will complete 15 workouts in 15 hours, running from 6:00am to 9:00pm at 1Life Gym in Wyboston.
The challenge has a personal motivation. Jamie has openly spoken about his own experiences with mental health struggles and how regular exercise has played a crucial role in helping him cope. Training has become a consistent and essential part of his routine, providing structure and support even during difficult periods.
The initiative highlights the widely recognised link between physical exercise and mental wellbeing. Regular activity is known to help improve mood, reduce stress, and support overall mental health. By taking on the challenge on a day often labelled as the “saddest of the year,” Jamie hopes to encourage a more positive conversation around mental health and the benefits of movement and community support.
Funds raised will support CPSL Mind, a charity providing vital mental health services across Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire. The organisation works with individuals and families, offering access to support when it is most needed.
Members of the public are encouraged to support the challenge by donating, sharing the fundraising page, or offering encouragement throughout the day. The aim is not only to raise funds, but also to increase awareness and remind people that help and support are available.
Jamie hopes to raise £1,000 as a result of his efforts. Donations can be made at:
