Eynesbury Rovers celebrate successful season at presentation night

Luke Young recognised at presentation night as the club’s leading scorer.

Eynesbury Rovers celebrated the end of a memorable season at their annual Presentation Night held at the clubhouse on Saturday 16 May.

The club’s first team finished 10th in the United Counties League Premier Division South and lifted the Hinchingbrooke Cup for the first time in 59 years after beating Yaxley 2-0 in the final.

Rovers also enjoyed their best-ever FA Cup run in terms of matches won during the campaign.

Among the major award winners on the night, Reece King was named Manager’s Player of the Year after making 43 appearances during the season, while goalkeeper James Hoskins picked up the Player’s Player award.

Max Kimpton received the new David Crisp President’s Cup for Supporters’ Player of the Year, having previously won the club’s Young Player award for the past two seasons.

Lewis Lynn collected Goal of the Season for the second year running for his strike against Biggleswade United in the FA Vase, while the Gary Whitbread Young Player award went to Oskar Ciach following impressive performances for both the Under 18s and first team.

Luke Young finished as the club’s leading scorer with 23 goals, while goalkeeper Chris Gough received the Kit Man’s Player of the Year trophy.

Awards were also handed out across the reserve and under-18 sides, with the Deryck Irons Trophy for Clubman of the Year presented to committee member Trevor Matthews.

The evening also recognised the contribution of volunteers and staff who support the club throughout the season.
