One of the new owners of St Neots Town FC has spoken publicly for the first time about the club’s future, following confirmation of a change in ownership at the end of last week.
Gary Wilson, part of the new consortium taking over the club, joined Ste Greenall in the studio to talk about their plans and commitment to continuing the work done by outgoing chairman Lee Kearns.
You can listen to the full interview below.
In a statement, the club paid tribute to Mr Kearns, thanking him for his "dedication and passion." Under his leadership, the Saints returned to Step 4 of the football pyramid, achieved financial self-sufficiency, and built a strong foundation on and off the pitch.
In a statement released at the end of last week, Mark Gearing, one of the new owners said:
“We are honoured to become custodians of such a proud and historic club. Lee has done a fantastic job in building a strong foundation and we’re determined to continue that progress both on the pitch and in the community.”
He added that the consortium is fully committed to maintaining and strengthening relationships with supporters and the wider St Neots area as they look to the future.
