There was no shortage of quality golf on display at St Neots Golf Club this weekend as members turned out in force for the Club Championship — the most prestigious competition in the club’s calendar.
The event, held on Saturday 26th July, lived up to its billing as the “biggest day of the year” for the club, with three major honours up for grabs and a strong field of golfers battling it out across two rounds.
At the top of the leaderboard, it was James Bradford who once again showed his class, holding his nerve to retain the Club Championship title. Bradford posted a combined gross score of 150 across the two rounds — enough to see off the competition and keep his hands firmly on the club’s top prize for another year.
In the Renaissance Trophy, awarded to players with a handicap of plus to 9, Nathan Temby took the honours with an excellent net score of 139, showcasing both control and consistency over 36 holes.
Meanwhile, the 10–18 Handicap Trophy was claimed by Ryan Bates, whose net score of 137 sealed the win in one of the most hotly contested categories of the day.
