It was a weekend of football success for St Neots, with both of the town’s senior teams picking up wins in their respective matches.
Eynesbury Rovers produced a dominant display at Alfred Hall Memorial Ground, running out 6–2 winners over Cranfield United in the United Counties Football League. Goals came courtesy of Lewis Lynn and Luke Young, who each bagged a brace, along with efforts from Oliver Brookes and Victor Osobu. The emphatic scoreline underlines the Rovers' intent as they look to build momentum for the season ahead.
Over at the Premier Plus Stadium, St Neots Town FC claimed a narrow 1–0 victory over Stamford AFC in a pre-season friendly. The only goal came via an own goal in the first half, and while heavy rainfall threatened to call the game off, the match was able to proceed — with the second half relocated to the club’s 4G Arena due to the increasingly waterlogged main pitch.
A pair of wins in tricky conditions marks a great day for local football, giving both clubs and their supporters a confidence boost ahead of the new season.
