Two Teenagers Killed in Tragic Collision Near Sandy

Two young men have sadly died following a serious road collision between Sandy and Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called at around 2.40pm to reports of a crash involving two vehicles on Sandy Road, between Everton and Sandy.

Despite the efforts of first responders, two men aged 18 and 19 were pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.

Several other people were injured in the incident and taken to hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Nicholas Kane from the Roads Policing Unit said: “This is an unbelievably tragic incident, and our thoughts are very much with the families and loved ones of the two young men who lost their lives.”

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage from Sandy Road or Everton Road around the time of the collision to come forward.

The road remains closed while investigation work continues. Anyone with information is urged to call 101 or visit the Bedfordshire Police website, quoting reference 260 of 28 June.
