
Tributes are being paid after the loss of one of the towns most familiar and much-loved business figures, Jason Seymour, who has passed away at the age of 56.
Jason, of Seymour Carpets – officially known as John Seymour Carpets – died suddenly last weekend after suffering a heart attack while climbing in Wales.
Well known in the local community not only for his long-running family business, but also for his generosity and involvement in local causes.
In a statement shared online, the Seymour family and team expressed their deep gratitude for the support they've received in recent days:
"Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for the incredible support and kind messages we've received over the past few days following the passing of our beloved Jason. It has meant the world to us and our team."
The family confirmed that John Seymour Carpets will continue trading, honouring Jason’s commitment to the business and its loyal customers.
"We’re proud to let you know that, with the help of our brilliant staff and friends, John Seymour Carpets will continue trading, just as he would have wanted."
The shop, based in St Neots, will reopen with limited hours from next week, with phone lines operating as normal and new enquiries being welcomed.
Jason’s sudden passing has prompted an outpouring of tributes from customers, colleagues and friends, many of whom praised his kindness, dedication and community spirit.
