Brickhill, Bedford – A targeted police operation has led to a major breakthrough in tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) around the parade of shops on Avon Drive.

Over recent weeks, the Brickhill Community Policing Team has stepped up patrols and conducted detailed enquiries in response to ongoing concerns from residents and business owners about nuisance behaviour in the area.

Their efforts have now resulted in 10 Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABCs) being issued to individuals identified as being responsible for the disruption.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour in any form in our communities. When it is identified, we will always be proactive to put a stop to it.”

ABCs are voluntary agreements between an individual and the police or local authority, used to address low-level anti-social behaviour. They set out clear expectations for behaviour and outline consequences if the contract is breached, which can include further legal action.
