St Neots Man Banned After Two Drug Driving Offences in Ten Days

Cambridgeshire Police

A St Neots man has been banned from the roads after being caught drug driving twice in the space of just ten days.

Zak Holmes, 22, of Leys Road, was first found by police on 5 December last year in a Mercedes with the engine running in Howitts Close, St Neots. He tested positive for both cannabis and cocaine at the roadside.

Less than two weeks later, on 15 December, officers spotted Holmes speeding on the A1 near Eaton Socon. He initially failed to stop but was eventually pulled over in Buckden, where he again tested positive for the same substances.

Appearing at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court, Holmes pleaded guilty to two counts of drug driving. He was disqualified from driving for two-and-a-half years, handed a 12-month community order, and ordered to pay a £150 fine.
