Police Appeal for Witnesses After Cyclist Dies in Bedford Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Bedford which left a cyclist dead.

Emergency services were called at around 2.30pm on Friday 27 June to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist at the junction of Broad Avenue and Gloucester Road.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Craig Wheeler from the Serious Collisions Investigation Unit said:

“Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the person who died in this tragic collision. We’re working to establish the circumstances of the incident and would encourage anyone with dash-cam footage, or who witnessed the incident, to get in touch.”

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. No arrests have been made.
