Four Arrested Following Serious Assault on Teenager in Papworth Everard

Cambridgeshire Police appeal for information after serious assault on teenage boy in Papworth Everard.

Four people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault on a teenage boy in Papworth Everard.

Police were called just before 10pm on Saturday (May 3), following reports that a 16-year-old boy had been stabbed in the face at the playing fields off Ermine Street North.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which were initially described as potentially life-changing. He has since been discharged and is recovering.

Following the incident, four people were arrested and taken into custody at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge. They include a 17-year-old boy from Huntingdonshire, a 17-year-old boy from Saffron Walden in Essex, and two individuals from Chatteris — a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man.

Detective Inspector Lindsay Harbour said:

"I understand the concern from the local community following this incident, however I hope it provides some reassurance that we have made four arrests. Officers will be in the area today carrying out enquiries, and I would urge anyone who has not yet spoken with us to make contact as soon as possible."

All four individuals have since been released on bail as the investigation continues.
