Emercency Control Room Closing

Bedford MP Voices Deep Disappointment Over Closure of Local 999 Call Centre, Putting 200 Jobs at Risk

Bedford MP Mohammad Yasin has criticised the decision to close the town’s 999 call centre within two years. Despite his ongoing campaign to keep it open, the East of England Ambulance Service Trust confirmed plans to shut both Bedford and Chelmsford centres, consolidating services in Norwich and a new Essex site. Mr Yasin has spoken urgently with the trust’s CEO to raise concerns over the impact of the move.
