A county-wide project to install interactive digital information screens across Cambridgeshire’s market towns has now been completed — with St Neots included as part of the scheme.
While residents in St Neots will already be familiar with the screens in the Market Square which were installed during the recent redevelopment works, and outside the town’s library, the project has now been extended to Huntingdon, St Ives, and Ramsey, completing the full rollout.
The screens, delivered by Huntingdonshire District Council in partnership with town councils and Connecting Cambridgeshire, aim to support high streets, local businesses, and tourism by providing real-time information on events, travel, and services. Each screen features a searchable business directory, local heritage highlights, and will soon include live bus and train times.
The initiative was funded by the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority as part of its Market Towns Programme, which supports regeneration and digital innovation in town centres.
Executive Councillor Sam Wakeford said the project “helps connect communities, showcase our market towns, and support the vibrancy of our high streets.”
The digital screens are just one of several smart infrastructure projects being rolled out to enhance town centres and improve access to local information across the region.
