Drivers are being advised to plan ahead as a full weekend closure of the A1 northbound is scheduled between Black Cat roundabout and Wyboston from 9pm tonight (Friday 4 July) to 5am on Monday 7 July.
The closure is part of ongoing work to upgrade the A428, with Anglian Water carrying out essential works to connect new water mains near the A1.
A diversion route will be in place for the duration of the closure. Traffic will exit the A1 at Tempsford, follow St Neots Road through Little Barford, then head west on the A428 via St Neots, rejoining the A1 at Wyboston.
Motorists are urged to allow extra time for their journeys and to follow the signed diversion routes to minimise disruption.
