National Highways will be carrying out essential drainage upgrades on the A428 this weekend as part of ongoing maintenance to improve road safety and reduce flooding.
The stretch of road between Eltisley and Caxton Gibbet roundabout will be closed from 6am on Saturday 25 October until 6am on Monday 27 October 2025 while new drainage systems and gullies are installed.
A diversion will be in place throughout the weekend. Drivers should travel on the B1040, then take the exit onto the A1198, and follow signs to rejoin the A428, essentially use the Papworth Bypass to loop around.
Motorists are being advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys, especially those travelling towards Cambourne, St Neots, and Cambridge.
