Heartfelt tributes have been paid to two teenagers who tragically lost their lives in a road traffic collision in the village of Everton, Bedfordshire, on Saturday afternoon (28 June).
Archie Ray, 19, and Ash Fisk, 18, were both pronounced dead at the scene on Sandy Road following a crash involving a white Volvo C30 and a blue Skoda Enyaq at around 2.40pm. Three others, including the driver of the Skoda, sustained serious injuries and remain in hospital.
Archie’s family described him as “a true ‘Ray’ of sunshine” who was “deeply adored” and known for his energy, kindness, and love of life. “He brought people together with his caring heart and generous spirit,” they said.
Ash’s family said he was “full of life, laughter, and kindness,” adding that he “brought light into every room” and had a promising career as a Field Audit Manager. “Gone too soon, but never forgotten,” they wrote.
The families of the injured passengers in the Volvo issued a joint message: “Coming together as four families, united in grief and love, we are so grateful for the strength and compassion of those around us.”
Detective Sergeant Craig Wheeler, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, called the incident “heart-breaking” and urged anyone who saw either vehicle before the crash — or who has dash cam footage — to come forward.
