The St Neots Ladies Circle is calling on the local community to support their charity initiative at this year’s St Neots Christmas lights switch-on to help them create care packages.
The care packages are being made for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), helping provide essential support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
EACH delivers a comprehensive range of services, including expert nursing care, symptom management, short breaks, family activities, physical therapies, wellbeing support such as counselling, art and music therapy, and bereavement care. The hospices provide a safe, supportive environment where children can enjoy everyday activities and families can spend quality time together.
The Ladies Circle, a friendship club for women aged 18 to 45, combines social and recreational opportunities with charitable work. The group said the collection at the lights switch-on is intended to give members the chance to make a meaningful contribution to the local community.
Items being requested for the care packages include:
-
Fluffy or novelty socks
-
Pamper items such as toiletries for parents and siblings
-
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits
-
Colouring books, pens, and crayons
-
Sensory toys and stickers
Residents attending the St Neots Christmas lights switch-on this weekend are encouraged to bring donations to support the initiative. Organisers say the contributions will help brighten the festive season for children and families receiving care from EACH.
