Two pupils at Priory Junior School have raised £130 for charity after making and selling homemade Lego poppies as part of the school’s Remembrance Day fundraising activities.
Joe and Austin produced 100 poppies in the weeks leading up to the sale and sought permission from headteacher Mrs Emma Welch to sell them on school premises.
Over recent days, the pupils visited different areas of the school to offer the poppies, which sold out within a short period.
In a joint statement, the pupils said:
“We are very proud of ourselves. It took three hours to make them and it was good to raise £130 for charity. We are quite surprised that we have completed this objective.”

Priory Junior School Headteacher Mrs Welch said:
“We are proud of the hard work that has gone into making and selling these poppies for such a good cause. The boys have shown how caring and considerate they are by giving their own time to raise money for an important cause.”
The money raised will contribute to Remembrance commemorations.
