Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was reported to have exposed himself in the Priory Marina area of Bedford on Tuesday evening (26 August).
The man is described as white, in his 20s or 30s, and was wearing a blue t-shirt, cargo pants and a cap. Officers are urging anyone who saw him, or who may have information that could help the investigation, to come forward.
The appeal follows two arrests in Bedford over the past week in connection with separate incidents of indecent exposure. A man in his 50s was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of indecent exposure in relation to three incidents earlier this month near Bedford Park. On Sunday (24 August), a man in his 80s was arrested on suspicion of outraging public decency after an incident in the Riverfield Drive area.
Detective Sergeant Zoe Keepin said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw the man in the Priory Marina area or has any information to get in touch as this can help us identify him. This isn’t just inappropriate, it’s illegal. It can be deeply distressing and is often used to intimidate, harass, or groom.”
Police are reminding the public that if they witness or experience indecent exposure, they should not engage with the person, move to a safe place or call for help, and report the incident to officers as soon as possible.
