Nominations are now open for the 2025 St Neots Initiative (SNI) Annual Awards, which will take place on Friday 21 November 2025.
The event celebrates the people, organisations and businesses that make St Neots a stronger, more connected and vibrant community — recognising achievement, leadership and service across a range of sectors, from business growth and manufacturing to sport, volunteering and youth empowerment.
Last year’s awards saw local heroes recognised for their contributions to the town, including Jim and Pam Fitzpatrick, winners of the Sue Jarrett Award for Services to the Community, and Brian Moore, who received the John Davies Award for Services to Business and the Community. Other winners included Dan Clarke (John McDonnell Sports Award), Paul Gibbons (Manufacturing Award) and Debbie Kellar (Young Person Award).
“These awards remind us that the strength of St Neots lies in the people who give their time, skills and creativity to make a difference every day,” said Debbie Phillips of the St Neots Initiative, who leads on the project. “Each nomination tells a story of pride, progress and purpose in our community.”
This year’s award categories include:
-
Sue Jarrett Award for Services to the Community
-
John Davies Award for Services to Business and the Community
-
John McDonnell Sports Award
-
Manufacturing Award
-
Young Person Award (17–25 years)
Anyone can submit a nomination online via the St Neots Initiative website, or by collecting a nomination form from the Citizen Hub in St Neots. The deadline for entries is Monday 24 October 2025.
The awards ceremony will once again bring together residents, community leaders and local businesses for an evening of celebration, networking and local pride. The event will feature live entertainment, local food and drink, and the chance to honour this year’s finalists and winners.
“It’s one of the most uplifting events in the town calendar,” said a representative from the Citizen Hub. “It’s where the people who make things happen in St Neots get the recognition they deserve.”
The St Neots Initiative is a volunteer-led organisation working with local residents, businesses and authorities to promote St Neots as a great place to live, work and play. Founded in 1996, the group focuses on improving quality of life, supporting the local economy and shaping the town’s future identity through collaboration and community spirit.
