A bin lorry was forced to dump its rubbish on a street in Huntingdon after it caught fire on Monday.
A refuse lorry fire occurred on the morning of May 12, 2025, between Alberta Crescent and American Lane in Huntingdon. Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly at 10:04 AM, deploying a crew from Huntingdon who used a hose reel to extinguish the blaze, which involved rubbish inside the lorry. The fire was determined to be accidental.
Cambridgeshire Police were notified of the incident by the fire service at 10:10 AM. No injuries were reported, and the fire was contained without further incident.
