Two of St Neots’ longest-standing primary schools, Crosshall Infant School and Crosshall Junior School, have officially joined Meridian Trust from the start of the new academic year.
The move brings both schools into a respected multi-academy trust, which supports more than 30 schools and over 18,000 pupils across Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire.
Crosshall Infant and Crosshall Junior have served the local community for decades, guiding pupils from Early Years through to Year 6. As part of Meridian Trust, both schools will benefit from strengthened leadership, teaching expertise, and enhanced training opportunities for staff.
Lesley Birch, Deputy CEO of Meridian Trust, said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Crosshall Infant and Junior Schools to Meridian Trust. These schools are at the heart of their community and have a strong history of helping children succeed both in and out of the classroom. With the commitment of the staff, governors, and families, we want to build on the great work already happening and make sure every pupil has every chance to thrive.”
Dan Ainscow and Liam Murphy, Co-Headteachers at Crosshall Junior, described the change as “an exciting new chapter,” while Rebecca Sawford, Headteacher at Crosshall Infant, said the Trust’s values closely align with the school’s focus on putting pupils and families first.
Meridian Trust already oversees several neighbouring schools, making this a logical step and a strong geographical fit. Leaders say the partnership marks the beginning of a strengthened and ambitious future for primary education in St Neots.
