The bridge connecting Little Paxton to St Neots has been closed by police this morning (Tuesday), with both police, ambulance and fire crews in attendance at the scene.
The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed, but the road is currently closed in both directions, creating delays for drivers heading in and out of town during the morning commute.
With the bridge shut, there is no direct access between Little Paxton and St Neots. Motorists are being forced to divert via the A1, adding significant time to journeys.
Police have told Black Cat Radio that the road “Won’t be open for a couple of hours”, and drivers are being urged to avoid the area and allow extra time for their journeys.
