A Premium Bonds holder from Central Bedfordshire has scooped one of the two £1 million jackpots in this month’s prize draw.
The winning bond, purchased in December 2008, is part of a £7,000 holding. This is the fifth time a Bedfordshire-based winner has claimed the top prize.
The other £1 million winner lives overseas.
In total, over six million prizes were awarded in the August draw, with a combined value of more than £396 million. Among the other big winners was a West Scotland resident who picked up £100,000 from a £750 holding.
More than 132 billion bond numbers were eligible in this month’s draw.
