Bedford dealer who used postal service to ship drugs jailed.

Mustak Alom, Bedford, Jailed for Drugs Offences.

A Bedford man who used the postal service to distribute Class A drugs across the UK has been jailed for more than five years.

Mustak Alom, 28, of Mareth Road, was part of an organised crime group moving drugs between Bedford and Southampton, while also offering “postal to anywhere in the UK” delivery on next-day terms.

Alom was already on bail for offences in London when, in January 2025, he visited Bedfordshire Police HQ as part of his bail conditions — arriving in an uninsured vehicle. When officers checked the car, he was arrested and searched.

Two mobile phones found on him linked him to an ongoing drugs investigation. A subsequent search of his Bedford home uncovered a large quantity of drugs including cocaine, ecstasy, ketamine and LSD, cannabis worth £16,000, edibles, drug paraphernalia, and nearly £2,000 in cash.

Alom admitted nine offences, including being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, and was sentenced at Luton Crown Court on Thursday (4 September) to five years and six months in prison.

Detective Constable Nema Behzadi said:

“Alom played a significant role in a drugs network which saw illegal and harmful substances distributed across the UK.
His use of the postal system to distribute drugs and his blatant disregard for the law - even turning up at police HQ in an uninsured vehicle - demonstrates the audacity with which he operated."
