Join Ben & Bella for playful reading trails across Bedford this August!
As part of Bedford Borough Council’s Year of Reading 2025, four magical outdoor reading adventure trails are launching across Bedford – all inspired by local author Julia Jarman’s much-loved books, with illustrations by Adrian Reynolds.

🛁 Big Red Bath Trail – Bedford Park, 22 Aug, 1–4pm
🚂 Big Blue Train Trail – Russell Park, 23 Aug, 10am–1pm
🛏 Big Bouncy Bed Trail – Bedford Library, 22–24 Aug
🚜 Big Yellow Digger Trail – Mowsbury Park, 24 Aug, 10am–1pm

Follow trail markers, enjoy vibrant illustrations, and discover one of Ben & Bella’s famous imaginary adventures. Pick up a free Activity Guide from Bedford Central Library or park kiosks, scan the QR code for maps, and collect brass rubbings at each location.

🏆 The first 200 children to complete all four trails win a prize!

🎨 Launch events include storytelling, crafts, face painting, and even a Digger Party!

No tickets needed, just turn up!
