A428 Upgrade

A billion pound scheme will improve journeys between Milton Keynes and Cambridge, bringing communities together and supporting long term growth in the region. 

We expect the road to open in 2027. Come back here regularly to check how the upgrade works might affect the journeys you have to make.

This week there is just a small diversion every evening from 8pm to 6am the following morning.

The A428 between Eltisley and Caxton Gibbet will be closed; a very short diversion takes you up the A1040 to the A1198 at Papworth and back down to Caxton Gibbett.

This is to install new drainage pipes for the new road.

Hopefully this small diversion won't cause too much disruption.
