About Us
Black Cat Radio – Serving St Neots and Surrounding Villages
Black Cat Radio C.I.C is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit community radio station, registered in the United Kingdom – Company number 07745456.
Registered Office: 2 Clayton House, Priory Lane, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 2BH.
Since 2017, we’ve been broadcasting across St Neots on FM and online, providing a trusted local voice with music, news, events, and discussion for the community.
The community of St Neots and surrounding areas benefits through:
The promotion of community organisations and events
Black Cat Radio highlights local events ranging from village fetes, summer fayres, and church services to charity fundraisers, school performances, and live music nights. By shining a spotlight on what’s happening in St Neots, Little Paxton, Eaton Socon, and nearby villages, we help community groups reach wider audiences and encourage local people to get involved.
Local news and current affairs which are no longer focused upon by national or independent radio stations
We bring coverage of news and issues that matter here – from council updates and planning applications to school achievements, grassroots sports, and community projects. Where national stations often overlook local stories, we ensure St Neots and its villages have their news heard.
The sharing of community information, news and issues and features including charity, voluntary and not-for-profit organisations
Our programmes include features on charities, voluntary initiatives, and not-for-profit organisations that support local life. Whether it’s a fundraising walk in Buckden, a foodbank appeal in Eaton Ford, or a volunteer recruitment drive in Eynesbury, we give community groups a platform to raise awareness and connect with residents.
The facilitation of discussion and the expression of opinion
Black Cat Radio is more than a music station – it’s a place where voices are heard. We provide opportunities for local people to share their views on issues affecting St Neots and surrounding villages, fostering open conversation and healthy debate within our community.
The better understanding of the particular community and the strengthening of links within it
By bringing together local news, events, sport, and culture, we help build stronger links across the area. Our mix of FM, Smart-Speaker and online broadcasting makes it easy for residents in St Neots and beyond to access reliable, relevant content, strengthening the sense of community and belonging.
Listen, Get Involved, and Volunteer
Black Cat Radio also provides volunteering opportunities in radio presenting, audio production, news reporting, and social media. Our station gives local people the chance to develop skills, share stories, and play a part in keeping community radio thriving in St Neots and the local area.
